American Olympic gold medalist in the high jump who was inducted into the United States Track & Field Hall of Fame in 2012. He is also the owner of the So High Sports and Fitness sports performance company.
He was born in Bay City, Texas and won the NCAA Outdoor Championship in 1990.
He is just the second high jumper to win gold medals at the Olympic Games, Indoor World Championships and Outdoor World Championships.
He is the youngest of ten children.
He and decathlete Bryan Clay both competed on the 2004 USA Olympic Track & Field Team.
